London Borough of Harrow

The north west outer London borough of Harrow has designated 44 SINCs (Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation) in its area of over 5,000 hectares. 22% of the borough is covered by Green Belt land. The latest Local Plan for Harrow, which is used for making decisions on planning applications, was adopted in February 2012, to cover the period up to 2026. Harrow is a partner of GiGL and is a core member of the London Boroughs Biodiversity Forum (LBBF), which discusses information and good practice related to biodiversity and open spaces in London.
