Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

The inner Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has designated 24 SINCs (Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation). The borough borders the Thames and has an area of over 1,000 hectares. The latest Local Plan for the Royal Borough, detailing the priorities for development in the area, has recently undergone consultation and will cover the period up to 2028. Kensington and Chelsea works in partnership with GiGL and is a core member of the London Boroughs Biodiversity Forum (LBBF), which discusses information and good practice related to biodiversity and open spaces in London.
