London Borough of Lewisham

The inner London borough of Lewisham has an area of more than 3,500 hectares, with a small proportion of it bordering the Thames. There are 64 SINCs (Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation) that the borough has designated. The area’s Local Plan details development plans and covers a 15 year period, from 2011 to 2026. Lewisham is a partner of GiGL and is also a core member of the London Boroughs Biodiversity Forum (LBBF), which discusses information and good practice related to biodiversity and open spaces in London.
