Survey Safety

Surveyors should not put themselves in a position that could place them, or others, in danger. The London Biodiversity Partners and GiGL do not take any responsibility or liability for any actions and subsequent consequences from the activities of surveyors.

Please consider all general and specific risks when doing surveying work. Be well prepared for adverse weather and be aware of any specific local hazards (e.g. old quarries or disused railways). Ensure that landowner permission is sought and received prior to carrying out any survey work on private land, and follow any instructions given by the landowner.

Always carry a charged mobile phone and leave it on while working.

If possible, work with at least one other person. Always let someone responsible know where you are working and approximately how long you expect to be away. Better still, leave a written note of these details with someone.
