Data Search Reports for Customers
Non-partners and profit-making customers are charged on a pay-as-you-use contract basis according to our current rates. The data they receive are not at full resolution and are supplied in a report.
Data search reports will include restricted access records at the level of resolution defined by GiGL or by the data owners. Confidential species records will be included as a ‘species alert’ without geographic content. To establish the presence of confidential species records on the site in question, a second data search request must be submitted with a detailed site boundary.
Sharing your Records with GiGL
Our customers often come to us for data, but they often also generate their own. We encourage our customers to share their records with us. The more our customers contribute their own data, the more they improve the evidence base for the future, for themselves and for others.

Data ownership, how and when to share data, the cost associated with re-formatting data/records. These are just some of the concerns consultants cite when considering sharing data with environmental records centres. Learn more about the benefits of sharing your data with GiGL
