Dragon Finder

A new Froglife project to provide GiGL with much-needed information on amphibian and reptile populations in London, and to raise the profile of these important species has received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The five-year project is called Dragon Finder and will operate across all London boroughs. .

Amphibians and reptiles are vital components of the ecosystems in which they live. Unfortunately, due to their sensitivity to environmental changes, a disproportionately large proportion of species are at risk of extinction. Dragon Finder will work with a range of people across London including schools, friends groups, museums, borough councils and charities to try and reach as wide an audience as possible. A number of activities and events will be included in the project, such as family workshops and fun days, habitat and species survey training, habitat restoration and creation, allotment projects, exhibitions and education projects.

Froglife are currently looking for project partners to help develop the Dragon Finder project, and are asking any organisations or individuals to come forward with any comments or queries. Please contact Vicky Ogilvy (Victoria.Ogilvy@froglife.org) for further details.
