This section of the Pyl brook is best seen where it flows beside Trafalgar Avenue and Lynmouth Gardens. Below this, the Lower Pyl Brook is more natural and of greater wildlife value. Immediately upstream of this section, in Sutton borough, the section of Pyl Brook at Stonecot is also of value for wildlife.

Between the brook and Trafalgar Avenue on the Sutton side is an area of rough grassland, while on the Merton side is dense vegetation of elm, bramble, elder and ivy between the brook and the back gardens of Garth Road. The brook runs here at the bottom of vertical banks and ivy-leaved toadflax, with its tiny lilac flowers, is found clinging to the banks on the Sutton side. The brook crosses under Garth Road to run along the edge of a small park known as Lynmouth Gardens. The park has dense shrubbery, with some taller trees, between the main path and the brook. Birds such as grey wagtail can be seen here.Facilities
