Description

This woodland is quite varied for its size, and includes evergreen as well as deciduous areas. There is also a small pond on the site.

Wildlife

About half is densely shaded by evergreen trees and shrubs including holm oak, box and holly with dense ivy on the ground and climbing the trees. The remaining half is less shaded and is composed of a variety of woody species including sycamore, elder and wild plum. Cow parsley and bramble dominate at ground-level. The pond in the south has a varied wetland flora including pendulous sedge, yellow iris, marsh marigold and great reedmace. Nuttall's waterweed grows in the water. A small clearing in the north has been planted with wild flowers and now supports populations of meadow crane's-bill, garden lady's-mantle and hautbois strawberry.
