Description

Sidcup Place and Green is a large park with areas of woodland and a walled garden with rare ferns. It includes parkland surrounding the former council offices of Sidcup Place, now a pub, and the ornamental gardens of Sidcup Green. The park boasts a range of sports facilities, including s and a pitch and putt, as well as a children’s playground.

Wildlife

Parts of the park are managed to improve their value to wildlife, including areas of scrub, tall herbs and woodland. The woodland is dominated by oak and sycamore, with a small population of the locally scarce grey sedge in the ground flora. The woodland and scrub are of value for breeding birds and invertebrates. A low flint-lined ha-ha supports a number of locally rare ferns, including wall-rue and maidenhair and black spleenworts.
