Description

Roding Valley Park lies on either side of the River Roding and presents an important green corridor in the west of the Borough. A number of areas are not included in this site, although they are part of the park. The River Roding itself is within a Metropolitan site and is described separately. The extensive areas of amenity grassland and playing fields within the park have been purposely excluded.

Wildlife

The site includes a mosaic of rough grassland and tall wildflowers, and small pockets of woodland and scrub.The Roding Valley is an important migration route for birds. Various ducks, grey herons, dragonflies and butterflies are all easily seen in the valley.
