Falmouth Road Park has been given a complete makeover thanks to a large cleaner, greener, safer grant from Borough & Bankside Community Council. This child-friendly park re-opened in March 2006 and features a children’s play area, ball court, seating areas, and new planting and landscaping. The surrounding hedges have been opened out to make the park visible and safe. One new feature is some benches designed by local people and made from oak trees removed from the Tower Bridge area. The idea for refurbishing Falmouth Road Park came from Junior Street Leaders’ comments on the old park.
