Spring Park Ponds
Borough: Croydon
Grade: Borough Grade II
Access: Free public access (part of site)
Area: 1.38 ha

Description

There are three ponds on this site, and one is in a public park. The other two are in private gardens. They are of value simply due to the shortage of wetland habitats on the dry foothills of the North Downs.

Wildlife

The ponds all have diverse amphibian communities, comprising frogs, toads, and smooth and palmate newts. The last is very scarce in London.
