Description

This small nature garden offers a good mix of habitats for primary schools in the Whetstone/North Finchley area. The nature garden is managed by Barnet Council’s Parks Department, and there is free public access. It is an excellent facility for school projects such as pond dipping, looking at wildflowers or watching butterflies and other insects.

Wildlife

The site has a small area of young oak woodland complemented by rough grassland and a wildlife pond. Tall hedgerows help to create a sense of seclusion. The grassland contains some interesting wildflowers including pignut and yellow archangel.
