Description
Wildlife
This ancient lies on damp clay soils of the Woolwich Beds. Oak standards dominate the canopy over outgrown coppice of ash, hazel and field maple. A good ground flora includes the London notable species butcher's-broom and a colony of martagon lily, the latter presumably originally a garden escape. Two ponds with bordering grey willow contain wetland flora including small sweet-grass, which is scarce in London. Lesser spotted woodpecker has bred and may still do so.Facilities
