The site includes two lakes within an attractive, well-managed park, close to two busy roads. This is a good place for people to see a range of common water birds at close quarters and it is a popular place to watch and feed the ducks. The site has free public access around the lakes, although the islands are inaccessible.

Wildlife
The steep-sided lakes are at least partly natural, and have several wooded islands, with weeping willow and natural earth banks. Water figwort, great willowherb, water mint and gipsywort grow on the banks. Although the water is clear there is no aquatic vegetation in the main lake. A small range of wildfowl occur, including Egyptian goose, mallard, coot and moorhen.Facilities
