A remnant of probable ancient woodland within an urbanised area of Biggin Hill, the site comprises mature and veteran beech both of which have standing dead wood. There are also a number of fallen dead logs present. This dead wood resource is valuable for saproxylic invertebrates. Despite the ground flora suffers from erosion, dog's mercury and bluebell are present in some numbers. The shrub layer is sparse but the site still supports a number of common garden birds, and speckled wood butterflies are found here.Facilities
