Description

This site is made up of grassland over chalk soils and strips of woodland. Part of the site is managed by London Wildlife Trust as a reserve called Coulsdon Coppice.

Wildlife

The chalk grassland has been invaded to a small extent by hawthorn and traveller's-joy. The woodland is comprised of oak with an understorey of hazel, holly and sloe. There are large patches of dogwood. The Roman or edible snail, a scarce and declining species in Britain, is common here.
