Description

Oaklands is an interesting, if small, open space, providing the landscaping around a housing estate.

Wildlife

The site consists of acid grassland with good numbers of mature trees, particularly conifers. Coal tit and goldcrests can frequently be seen here, attracted by the conifers. Botanically, the best part of the site is close to the entrance to the residential close. Here, there are a large number of wildflowers amongst the grass. These include wood sage and bitter-vetch.
