Description

Westow Park was originally a small recreation ground acquired as a children’s playground. Now it has a wild area, with a wide range of mature trees.

Wildlife

Trees on the site include Norway maple, sycamore, ash and oak. Ivy scrambles over the ground and up many of the trees, providing food and shelter for birds and invertebrates. Elsewhere in the park, there is an even wider range of trees, such as common lime, hornbeam, Turkey oak, white poplar and hawthorn, as well as further specimens of those found in the wild area.
