Access: Free public access to most of Hounsden Wood. Hounsden Gutter and tributary can be viewed from adjacent paths or roads only.

Description

A modest copse of native tree species, through which the Hounsden Gutter, a small stream, flows. Beside this are areas of permanently wet carr (woodland), an uncommon habitat in London.

Wildlife

The small copse has a canopy dominated by sycamore and pedunculate oak. The ground flora includes pendulous sedge and ramsons.
