This site is made up of a series of horse-grazed pastures, hedgerows and an old farm pond to the south of Eltham Palace, as well as the Palace itself, including its moat. Some of the fields support a variety of species, and the hedgerows, pond and moat add to the diversity of the habitats. The Green Chain Walk and Capital Ring pass through the site, and the palace grounds are open to the public.

Description
Wildlife
Three fields on the eastern side are particularly species-rich, with a good diversity of grasses including much crested dog's-tail and sweet vernal-grass and an abundance of common wild flowers, particularly common knapweed. Wetter areas contain a good deal of tall fescue and hairy sedge, and the old farm pond contains the London rarity thread-leaved water-crowfoot. The other fields are less diverse. All the fields feature fine mature hedges. The moat in the grounds of Eltham Palace supports a good community of amphibians.Facilities
Car parking; toilet (within the Palace grounds); waymarked walking routes
