This attractive landscaped garden contains many period features from the 1930s, as well as an 18th century ice well. The two main parts of value to wildlife are a large pond, and an area of woodland set aside as a bird sanctuary. The site is well used for environmental education by local schools. The extreme eastern end of the pond lies within the Royal Blackheath Golf Course and is included in that site.
