Description
Wildlife
The river Rom is narrow and fast flowing here, with a good range of aquatic plants. It flows between an avenue of trees and shrubs chiefly composed of crack willow and hawthorn. The associated vegetation is considerably more diverse than in sections of the river, and includes unbranched bur-reed, fool's watercress, watercress, reed canary-grass, water pepper, Russian comfrey and abundant Indian balsam. The banks are covered in a mosaic of semi-improved neutral grassland, amenity grassland and tall herbs.Facilities
