Area: 4.03 ha

Description

Rise Park Stream is a clear, fast-flowing stream containing fish.

Wildlife

This site includes a section of the stream flowing over a gravel bed. To the south the adjacent vegetation is largely open with steep banks covered in false oat-grass, cock's-foot and nettle. There is a narrow, broken strip of hawthorn and blackthorn with occasional oak, grey willow and field maple, possibly an old agricultural hedge. To the north, woodland predominates with stands of large oak and hornbeam growing from the stepped stream banks. Ivy dominates the ground flora and woodland grasses are present. Railings, a hawthorn/blackthorn hedge, and blackthorn scrub form the eastern boundary to this part of the site.
