Roots and Shoots is a thriving wildlife garden run by a youth training organisation. It has been lovingly planted with a mixture of wild and exotic plants in a range of specially-created habitats. There is a thriving garden centre producing plants for sale, and the nature garden is used for environmental education. Students from all London boroughs can join their learning, training and employment experience, and this also involves local schools and the wider community. Parts of the site can also be hired out as a venue. The remainder of the site is Lambeth Walk Doorstop Green, a richly vegetated area containing fruit trees and a variety of native plants.
