Description

This attractive, mature park is by far the largest open space in densely built-up East Ham. Central Park won a Green Flag Award again for 20089. Newham Striders use this site – a Walking the Way to Health (WHI) scheme; see link for details.

Wildlife

There are numerous mature trees, mostly London plane, lime and horse chestnut but with a wide variety of other species. A 'tree trail' leaflet provides information about some of these. The formal gardens contain dense shrubberies, providing further habitat for common birds. A small pond contained fringed water-lily and ornamental fish.
