Area: 0.95 ha

Description

Low Hall Wood is a small wood beside the Dagenham Brook, with access via Low Hall Sports Ground.

Wildlife

The woodland is dominated by ash and sycamore, with some oak and cherry. In more open areas, scattered trees of horse-chestnut and field maple occur, with scrub of hawthorn and elder. The ground flora includes bramble, comfrey and common nettle. The Dagenham Brook runs along the east side of the site. It is lined by mature ash, crack willow, lime, and sycamore. The stream itself has little or no vegetation, but the banks are clothed in cow parsley, nettle, hogweed, white dead-nettle, comfrey and several species of grasses. The brook is a winter feeding ground for grey wagtail.
