These attractive lanes, bordered with trees and shrubs, provide a deceptively rural atmosphere in suburban Chingford. In parts, the trees and shrubs are dense and structured enough to be considered linear woodland strips.

Wildlife
Common species include ash, oak, hawthorn, blackthorn, elder, suckering elm, field maple, sycamore and Norway maple. Bramble is abundant. The paths are surfaced with earth or gravel. Stands of tall flowers and patches of grassland lie between the path edge and the trees. Cow parsley, ivy, great willowherb, nettle, cleavers, common bent and false oat-grass are common. The lanes harbour good populations of common birds, and are home to a variety of butterflies and other invertebrates.Facilities
