This large site includes a cemetery and areas of natural interest, including an old ditch line. It lies east of Mitcham Common, on ground that was also once common land and farmland at the turn of the 20th century. The cemetery provides contact with nature in an area lacking accessible wildlife sites.

Description
Wildlife
Beside the access from Mayfield Road in the north there is an old ditch with elder, hawthorn and elm over nettle, cow parsley and mugwort. The cemetery lies to the south of this ditch and is large and long established. The remnant of an old green lane leaves Mitcham Common to run through the cemetery to Thornton Road. Much of its ditch and bank are lost, but small parts survive between the cemetery and the sports grounds to the north, and hold similar flora to the ditch. The cemetery itself has many trees and grassland dominated by false oat-grass. It also attracts a good range of birds and butterflies.Facilities
