Kings Wood is a splendid example of ancient oak woodland on flinty clay overlying chalk. Silver and downy birch, ash, yew and hornbeam are amongst the other tree species found here. There is a very good path network providing access throughout the site.Croydon Active Lifestyles project uses this site – a Walking the Way to Health (WHI) scheme; see link for details.
