Borough: Merton
Grade: Borough Grade II
Access: Free public access (all/most of site)
Area: 2.13 ha

Description

This site is a remnant of the disused Merton Park to Tooting railway (see also Myrna Close Valley), reclaimed by nature since the line was closed in 1975. It makes for a pleasant walk from the Merton Park halt on Tramlink, through to the busy Morden Road. Most of the site is a Local Nature Reserve.

Wildlife

The line is flanked by grassland, scrub and young woodland. A small triangle of inaccessible elm scrub and bramble adds to the habitats in the area.
