Wildlife

Despite its name, this site, located in South Bermondsey in an area of dense housing with little open space, is more of an interestingly-landscaped small park than a nature garden. Plentiful shrub planting in informal groups provides good habitat structure, but consists almost entirely of exotic species. However, much of the shrubbery has recently been cut back. Some of the grass is allowed to grow long, but most is close-mown. A small pond suffers badly from rubbish dumping. It is protected by the London Squares Act.
