Description

Wandsworth Cemetery was opened in 1878, and features some wildflower-rich neutral grassland with scattered trees.

Wildlife

Although frequently mown, the grassland contains a number of wildflowers such as oxeye daisy and spotted medick. The tombstones are covered with both white and biting stonecrops. Most of the scattered trees are sycamore, with some horse chestnut and Lombardy poplar.A range of birds use the site including long-tailed tit, woodpigeon and swift. Yellow meadow ants are also frequent within the grassland.
