This open space is adjoining Harrow Weald Common and is mainly woodland. The area was formerly part of the estate of W S Gilbert (Gilbert of Gilbert and Sullivan), who drowned in an ornamental lake on the estate.Gilbert’s old house is now the Grimsdyke Hotel. Harrow Council leases both the house and part of the grounds to the hotel.
