This park is extremely popular, with a thriving bowling club using the green. There are hard tennis courts and two children’s play areas, one for toddlers and another with more ambitious play equipment set in a grassy, dog-free area. The park is well planted with mature shrubs, trees and flowerbeds. A cricket club plays in the park during the summer months. Carlisle Park takes its name from George James, 9th Earl of Carlisle and keen artist.
