The Gardens were laid out by the Victorians and still almost completely surrounded by original houses. A climbing frame suitable for young children is situated at one end of the square and at the other a multi-use fenced sports pitch. The square has an open feel but still retains its original perimeter plane trees. The park attendant for the area is based here.
