Description

The site includes an area of planted native woodland and scrub that lies within Castle Green, which is an amenity grassland and recreation ground that runs alongside the A13. It offers the best contact with nature for nearby residents. There is free public access to the site and the surrounding area, which is well used for informal recreation.

Wildlife

The site contains a good number and range of native species, including hawthorn, hazel, elder and a range of poplars. This habitat provides good opportunity for common nesting birds, which have very little opportunity in the surrounding area.
