Finchley Way Open Space (FWOS) is the site of the former Brent Lodge house and gardens, amounting to 0.69 hectares in total. Brent Lodge was built in about 1810 and was demolished in 1962. The site comprises three sections: the Green Field (the site of the house) an open area for sitting and playing; and two areas of overgrown woodland: The Copse, and The Orchard (early maps show this area as a kitchen garden) which is being renovated as a wildlife area.
