Description
Wildlife
The drainage dykes are well vegetated, dominated by common reed and great reedmace. The ditches support the specially protected water vole, a priority species in the UK and London Biodiversity Action Plans. Some ditches hold populations of the nationally scarce marsh dock and some also have important populations of fish and invertebrates. Breeding birds include reed warbler. In 2016 it was noted that some stretches of the network require litter clearance and management of scrub on the banks (mainly bramble) to allow development of marginal vegetation.Facilities
