Description

This site consists of a churchyard with a mosaic of regularly-mown grass and some taller neutral grass growing on gravel soils.

Wildlife

Primrose is common in the northern part of the site. There is an excellent lichen community with over 40 species present on the tombstones. The grassland supports a good range of grassland fungi, including the rarity pink waxcap, which occurs regularly in good years. The flint walls have a large and important population of the nationally scarce wall bedstraw, as well as wall-rue and pellitory-of-the-wall. Bats roost in the church belfry.
