Pauls Cray Hill Park
Borough: Bromley
Grade: Borough Grade II
Access: Free public access (part of site)
Area: 33.75 ha

Description

A large park on the edge of open countryside immediately to the east of the built-up area of St Paul’s Cray which is undergoing extensive landscaping.

Wildlife

The site is currently undergoing major landscaping to be reinstated as a wildlife area. There is a large central area of bare ground surrounded by a mosaic of scrub, grasslands, small developed and developing woodlands and scattered trees which are likely to support a wide variety of common invertebrates, birds and mammals. Scarce London birds such as the linnet and bullfinch are also present. Amongst the commoner ruderals growing on the landscaped chalky areas, the London rarity blue pimpernel can be found.
