Description

A small area of woodland lying on a slope near St Mary Cray station. There are no other accessible wildlife sites in the immediate area.

Wildlife

The trees are mostly quite young, with oak and silver birch dominating the canopy, but there are also some fine mature trees of oak, ash and sweet chestnut. The shrub layer consists of elder, hawthorn and old coppiced hazel. The ground flora is dominated by bracken, ivy and bramble, and also contains wood anemone, a speciesusually associated with ancient woodland.
