Norbury Hall
Borough: Croydon
Grade: Local
Access: Free public access (all/most of site)
Area: 2.87 ha

Description

Specimen trees dominate this small park, which also has patches of acid grassland. The park provides welcome contact with nature in an area short of accessible wildlife sites.

Wildlife

The old part of this park has many specimen trees, including oak, deodar cedar, yew, dawn redwood, horse chestnut and red oak. In the grass near the hall is a patch of slender trefoil and not far away on a bank there is much fiddle dock; both are uncommon species in London, indicative of acid grassland.
