Description

This small wood in a steep ravine at the edge of Plumstead Common is possibly ancient in origin. It is highly valued for its wildlife by the local community.

Wildlife

The canopy is dominated by sessile oak, with a dense understorey of holly, while bluebell is locally abundant. The site supports good populations of common birds and invertebrates, and is managed as a nature reserve.
