Description

This is the only large open space in the middle of Hackney, and is extremely popular with the local community. There is great potential for habitat improvements, which would add to the aesthetic appeal of this well used open space. Hackney Downs won a Green Flag Award for the first time in 2008 and retained it in 2020.

Wildlife

It contains some fine mature trees, mostly London plane and sycamore. A hedge of hawthorn and rose provides nesting habitat for common birds.
