This small pond is situated in the south-eastern corner of Harefield Green, adjacent to the war memorial. Harefield Village Green won a Green Flag Award in 2008/9.

Wildlife

The pond supports a wide range of wetland plants, dominated by a stand of great reedmace. Also here are trifid bur-marigold, galingale and sweet flag, yellow iris, gipsywort, reed sweet-grass and water-pepper. Like many public ponds it also contains abundant New Zealand pigmyweed, an invasive species which has so far proved very difficult to eradicate. The pond supports populations of invertebrates and amphibians. The grassland of the village green is dominated by creeping bent, interspersed with red fescue and marsh cudweed. The stone steps and terracing around the pond also support interesting mosses and lichens.
